Stella 1920s

Meet Stella. She captures every eye in the room, she’s the life of the party and perfectly reflects the meaning of her name: star.

The geometric design channels Stella’s inner Coco Chanel with inspiration drawn from the fabulous flapper dresses of the period. This yellow gold fan baguette ring isn’t shy; she represents the carefree spirit of the roaring 20s (also known as the Crazy Years because of their social and artistic energy).

“The long shape down the finger reminds me of Art Deco style,” says Jan, the designer and manufacturing jeweller of the ring. Stella is made in 18ct yellow gold with a 0.50ct centre stone, flanked by two trapezoid diamonds and six baguette diamonds to create the fan down the finger.

Stella would be the star of any outing and would have sat proud in the store in the first decade of Dalgleish Jewellers in their original premises at 85 Devon Street West.

Taranaki in the 20s: Life in Taranaki rebuilds with a new sense of hope after the devastation of WWI and the influenza pandemic. Dalgleish Jewellers opens for business, riding that wave of optimism.
